About the formula
Introduction
This accord, named "Pistil", is a dark fruit accord developed by perfumer Marie-Pierre Blanchette. It is intended to capture a specific dark and autumnal mood, reminiscent of an old, overgrown orchard.
The Accord
The accord is built around a blend of nectarine and plum, creating a juicy and vibrant base. To achieve the desired autumnal effect, the fruits are imagined as slightly overripe, with some beginning to dry out and wither. This adds a touch of depth and complexity, balancing the sweetness with a hint of decay.
The Inspiration
The inspiration for this accord stems from a desire to create a sense of nostalgia and timelessness. It evokes the image of a forgotten orchard, where nature is allowed to run its course, and the fruits, once vibrant and fresh, have succumbed to the passage of time. This element of decay adds an intriguing layer to the accord, making it both evocative and captivating.
The Use
This accord is ideal for perfumes seeking a dark, sensual, and slightly melancholic vibe. It could be incorporated into fragrances for autumn and winter seasons, or used to create a unique and memorable scent for evening wear.
Conclusion
This accord is a testament to the power of perfumery to evoke emotions and create a sense of place. By blending familiar fruit notes with subtle nuances of decay, Marie-Pierre Blanchette has crafted a fragrance that is both nostalgic and captivating, inviting the wearer to explore the hidden depths of an old, forgotten orchard.
Everyone, we continue the collective sharing project with the precious contribution of Marrie-Pierre Blanchette, the founder and perfumer of the soon to be released perfume house @miskeoparfums from Berlin. Here, Marie decided to share a Dark Fruits accord she uses in one of her scents which I can't wait to try: -This accord is used in Pistil, one of our soon-to-be-launched perfumes. While shaping the structure for Pistil, I needed a fruit accord that would fit the dark and autumnal mood I had in mind and would feel like an old little round lady's orchard. I created a nectarine-plum fruit accord that feels really juicy, but also perhaps just past its prime and overripe, and where some of the fruits on the trees have started to dry out and wither. - The purpose of this project is to create a free data base for everyone looking for practical information, accord and scent making tips that will create a more transparent world regarding perfume making and industry. This makes the art truly accesible to everyone to appreciate, to study and to grow on perfumery, and the open call for perfumers who are willed to participate is still open, as this is an ongoing project. *everyone who appreciates, likes or uses the informations from this project is invited to share. Let's grow this together ❤ Thank you Marie for accepting my invitation in this project and for sharing a little part of your magic! See you soon, guys!🫐
