Description
Here is an accord I’ve been working on for a few days for a fragrance project I got hired onto. Tomato leaf to my nose is similar in a way to what I think of when you smell fig leaves. But tomato leaf is more watery in a sense. One might think that it would just be a green smell. But it is more than that.
Tomato leaf has a green, vine, herbal smell that is strongest to my nose. It can be earthy and also have a citrus zing to it depending on the freshness of the leaves being studied. Petrichor and Eucalyptus come to mind when I smell them.
Green accords such as this can be quite difficult for a beginner or novice lerfumer to create since there are so many “green” materials. And it is easy to muddy up the accord by just adding random bits and bobs of green notes. Balance is always key and it is of utmost importance to study your materials and to understand how each and every one of them plays into a composition.
This is a great starting point to try and study some of the harder materials or try something you might not have used before.
Happy perfuming!!
What is a green fragrance you enjoy or a fragrance that incorporates tomato leaf?
