About the formula
Description
“I do a research on the Indochine Era of Vietnam in 1858 for some inspirations and quite fascinated with the story about Opium resin back then. It was nightmare but also a great material to work with. I’ve never smelled it in real life but some of my friend told me that it smells like an unripe fig with herbal, sticky feeling like balsam and a powdery, musky sweet note. Adding my style of blending, I want to create this accord with a dark shade of green, slightly leathery and animalic with a powdery musky effect. Instead of using ethyl maltol (I don’t think it will work), I decided to take the sweetness from balsam and resin, also, with these materials, they could add the texture of sticky, thick, dark liquid to the accord and round up everything. Hope you guys will enjoy this as I do, heavy, dark and extremely tempting.”
Thrilled to welcome again my friend and perfumer of @sylhouette.parfums , Sy Troung, who, as always, shared a beautiful, complex and very meticulous formula, alongside a beautiful short storytelling. Thank you, Sy! 🌹 @chieusy.perfumer
