Description
Description:
Mimosas — Not Just for Brunch
When most hear “mimosa,” thoughts of champagne and orange juice take over. But in perfumery, Mimosa refers to a delicate and radiant floral note with soft powdery nuances and a honeyed warmth. 🌼
Often called Acacia or Cassie, mimosa encompasses a wide range of species—over 600 to be exact. But not all are aromatic. The most commonly used in perfumery is Acacia dealbata, also known as “Flowering Mimosa,” prized for its light, sweet floral scent. On the other hand, Acacia farnesiana (often labeled as Cassie) brings a deeper, almost honey-like richness with violet-like facets, thanks to alpha and beta ionones.
On its own, Mimosa absolute can sometimes feel muted or flat—think floral Jolly Ranchers. But when layered thoughtfully with supporting florals like Jasmine Grandiflorum and Ylang-Ylang, plus a hint of Violet Leaf Absolute for a green undertone, it blooms into something truly evocative: the sunlit, pollen-dusted air beneath a mimosa tree in full flower.
This custom-built accord aims to capture that fleeting moment in nature—and turn it into something wearable.
