About the formula
Description
Narcotic notes are not just strictly white florals, although a majority are, but also include Ylang Yang, Iris, and even Rose in some cases. But for this accord, we will focus mostly on the white floral aspect. This revolves around Jasmine, Tiberose, Neroli, Orange Blossom, Gardenia, and Frangipani. These notes are usually intoxicating, opulent, lush, intense, sweet, or indolic. Multi faceted and sophisticated in their own rights. While many of these floral absolutes are wonderful, they aren’t what you would typically expect when it comes to what they would smell like on their own. Most are heavy and sometimes dark or mysterious. Not commonly what we associate these notes as. But with the help of aroma chemicals, we can help soften and boost the lighter and more robust floral aspects us perfume lovers love and adore. This accord has a little bit of everything, lots of common floral materials and some not so common materials. And the small doses of natural florals give it that welcomed boost. This is a very heady accord that can be used In tandem with your favorite absolute or an accord on its own. Do not be scared to experiment and try using this accord alongside any florals like Muguet or Hyacinth, it would be great paired with a green floral and give even more lift and headiness. 📸: @wildveilperfume
White florals have seemingly dominated the perfume industry over the last century with over 83% of fragrances include a jasmine or “Jasmine Like” note. What is it about white florals in general that have such a “Narcotic” affect on our brains (and noses)?
