About the formula
Introduction
BVLGARI Eau Parfumee Au The Vert is a perfume whose tea accord has enjoyed great notoriety and has been used in the formulation of many cosmetic products.
The Inspiration
Jc Ellena, a former Givaudan employee, was aware of the work of chemist Roman Kayser who "worked on osmanthus absolute, and described the similarity of this scent rich in carotinoid degradation products, such as β-ionone, damascenone, theaspirane, with the components of green and fermented tea." Scent and Chemistry / Gunther Ohloff, Wilhelm Pickenhagen, Philip Kraft, Fanny Grau.
The Formula
The formula published here is taken from a Givaudan patent published by Philipp Kraft. So here we find the typical tea accord with beta ionone / allyl ionone, beta damascone accented by a green contrast (tea leaves) with the use of triplal and cis 3 hexenyl acetate.
The Scent Profile
The green tea here is a kind of spiced Earl Gray with the huge dose of cardamom, nutmeg and pepper.
This perfume formula evokes the iconic green tea accord of BVLGARI Eau Parfumee Au The Vert. It features a distinct spiced Earl Grey character with prominent cardamom, nutmeg, and pepper notes. The green tea element is further enhanced by the presence of triplal and cis 3 hexenyl acetate.
