Erasmo de la Parra

Perfumer, filmmaker, founder of BASED. Perfumer at C.XIII and Global South International

Erasmo de la Parra, originally from Amsterdam and now a citizen of Madrid, is the founder of BASED, curator of perfume bases for DIY perfumers, and the perfumer behind C.XIII (formerly Cabinet 13) and Global South International. Alongside perfume, he has built a parallel career in film as a director and writer, bringing a cross-disciplinary vision to his creations. He began his training fifteen years ago in Barcelona with an under-the-radar Spanish master perfumer, known only within select circles. His palette is minimal and his formulas restrained, built on the conviction that simplicity carries beauty and complexity as one.

Image for Banana Davana
Banana Davana
A deep, ambery composition built around the richness of ripe banana facets. Isoamyl acetate forms the core fruit tone, while davana adds herbal-fruity naturality. Habanolide cocoons the accord in warm musk, and a touch of labdanum provides a honeyed background. A mild banana mid-to-base note with lasting depth and radiance. Fun tip: Replace Habanolide with Helvetolide. It will make it completely different.
Image for White Copal
White Copal
A fantasy base recreation of Mexican white copal. Resinous yet dry, it brings an incensy character that softens and enriches compositions. Copal is unique, less sharp than frankincense, and works best as a modifier for midnotes. For added realism, it can be blended with elemi resinoid.
