Lavandin super smells like a smooth, cottony lavender with camphoraceous, herbal, and icy undertones.
Luebke, William tgsc, (1989): Floral herbal lavender camphor soapy
IFF: Aromatic, fresh and floral
IFF: Rich and mellow floral, the finest lavandin with a fruity candy facet
Fraterworks: When the original lavandin (abrialis) began to vanish due to disease, a new cultivar arose. that cultivar was a super hero in the commercial lavender and lavandin market as it saved the day. appropriately named lavandin super oil remained the most common oil until the 1970s when a stronger and larger variety called lavandin grosso began to replace it.
Lavandin is a cross between high altitude "true" lavender (lavandula angustifolia) and low altitude spike lavander (lavandula spica). the resulting oil is a bolder and more complex oil than either of its parents.
We also have a lovely new zealand grown lavandin grosso oil and an intense classical lavandin abrialis oil.
