About the formula
Introduction
Here is a basic tobacco accord you can use in any intepretation you feel like and explore different facets of this more fascinating that you think of material. Also, here is a nice note on some other ingredients you may want to take in consideration when playing around with tobacco: "Tabaxol, for instance, is an extremely intense smelling compound, but when heavily diluted it achieves a roasted, nutty, slightly meaty scent with phenolic and metallic undertones, whereas its 'big brother' mossenate is less aggressive and possesses some interesting orris and ylang-ylang notes. Methyl nicotinate combines warm spicy aromatic notes with a distinct tobacco tone, while damascenine (despite its name, a close relative to anthranilates) combines tobacco and floral notes. Tonkavert may also seem quite an interesting compound: chemically speaking, it is a nitril, but one can recognize notes of tonka beans and tobacco in its scent." It can help others looking for information and also supports my work! Source of accord: The Perfumer's Apprentice.
π§ͺπ¨π»βπ¬In perfumery tobacco is a note more versatile than it may sound to others. Sweet smelling, earthy and with some aspects that may have undernotes of dried fruits, cocoa or caramel, there are many reinterpretations of this subject from the famous Tobacco Vanilla by Tom Ford which features a dark, sweet and deep tobacco note to The Dreamer by Versace where we can smell a different point of view on this note, more clear, fresh and with some wet tobacco aspects made into it or the interesting made Tobacco Mandarin by Byredo which blends very well the notes of tobacco with a warm-citrusy mandarin.
