Hello guys! Do you like bubblegum in your perfumes?
It can be such an interesting accord to blend with and today, @freddiealbrightonperfume is sharing his own bubblegum note in the collective sharing project! I couldn't be more excited about this so, I will let you enjoy Freddie's copy and beautiful accord.
Thank you so much Freddie for your contribution in this project! 💖
“This bubblegum formula is as it appears in my latest fragrance release Last Minute Change Of ❤️“… bubblegum appears to be an extremely simple smell because it’s so familiar but the little nuances are fun to play with. The fantasy fruits have aspects of banana, raspberry, strawberry, pineapple and a hint of citrus, mixed with subtle cinnamon and clove spices. There is sharp sweetness of course but whatever you build on this can tame that - I used it by tying the clove and fruity acetates to an abstract jasmine accord and contrasted it with lots of cedar and sandalwood to “butch it up” a bit - ironically of course.
In this accord there is both a powderiness and a balsamic quality that plays with the texture of bubblegum and not just the smell - adding a chewy, more solid effect that comes across much more fleshed out and “mature”.
Accords like this, that rely on lots of little contrasting elements you wouldn’t expect together, means those aspects can be thrown in numerous directions - more ionones could be added to push it into a totally powdered iris bubblegum… the cinnamyl alcohol and eugenol blend seamlessly into florals - a bubblegum rose for example (which I’ve also played with using this formula). The pineapple notes can be added to, to create a more tropical, juicy-fruit gum.
Anyway! I hope you enjoy playing with this as a starting point ☺️“
